About Sober

Quitting habits is hard. Counting days shouldn’t be. Back in 2017, I built a little iOS app to track my sober days. No plans, no team — just me, a few late nights of coding, and the thrill of seeing it appear on the App Store.

Turns out, I wasn’t the only one counting. Slowly, quietly, without ads or hype, more and more people showed up. Today, there are over half a million of us. Together we’ve logged millions of days free from habits we’re leaving behind. Together we’ve saved money, unlocked achievements, and even picked up hangover advice (for those inevitable “oops” moments).

As the community grew, the app had to grow up too. Features multiplied, but thanks to Nigmat’s design, it stayed beautifully simple. And with Andrey’s development skills, it became smoother than ever.

But the real heart of Sober isn’t the counters or the widgets. It’s the community journal — where strangers encourage each other like lifelong friends, celebrate victories, admit stumbles, and prove again and again that we’re stronger together.

So what is Sober today? It’s proof that a small idea can grow into something much bigger when people come together. It’s a space for change, laughter, and support.

If the time is right for you, we’ll be right here. Welcome to the family.
